The Left Behind Movie starring Nicolas Cage opened in theaters on October 3, 2014. To counter this false teaching of pre-tribulationism, Good Fight Ministries has produced a video examining the origins of the pre-tribulation rapture teaching. I highly recommend it.

The early church and the apostles were mere men that misinterpreted a few points Jesus taught about. The apostles thought they would experience the rapture and return of Christ before John’s death – error. The church (at least at Rome) were sure the Millennial Kingdom started when Jesus ascended to Heaven – error. Humans are not perfect and on some points the truth is difficult to be sure about. That’s a fact of life we just need to admit to and keep in mind before taking a stance on one of those argumentable points. The timing of the Rapture is one of those points. The compelling verse for a pre-trib view is that ‘no one knows the day nor hour’ and we do know the day of both the mid-point of the Great Tribulation and the last day (stated in Revelation), the abomination of desolation being the first day.
